What is RPG Maker 2000? Well... « Thread Started on Sept 8, 2005, 7:33pm »
RPG Maker 2000 (or RM2k for short) is a program that allows you to create your very own 2D tiled-style rpg. The program is very customizeable, it allows you to make your own characters, speech faces, chipsets, and much more. The program is also relatively simple to use, because it has the programming commands simplified so they are understandable. You can decide stats (and stat growth) for characters, weapons, items, monsters... basically anything.
You can make your own stuff, or just edit the basics that are layed out for you. You can even edit the battle animations. I'd say the only setback is that you don't get to decide the game options or the battle style... but that shouldnt be a problem if you really want to make a game.
So... does it sound good? I really enjoy it nad I'm sure you will if you try it. And you can message on the board if you have any questions.
And don't forget to install the rpg maker >>AND>> the RTP!! this is critical!! Without the RTP the program will not work!!!
And most of all: Enjoy yourself! ^^
NOTE: You must have a fileplanet account to download from the link above. Fileplanet accounts are free and they can be very helpful. If you don't want to get one or if it isn't working, plaese pm, email, or im me so i can help you out.

Lets see. Only the demo that comes with it by the translator, Don something-or-other, and this Sonic World RPG demo that was kinda neat. So, no really big things. If you're looking for a good example of a game, I used to know where to find them, and you can search for them, but I remember this one. I think it was called Abyss, and I'm not sure if it was based on anything, but I know that it won awards, so it would be worth checking out.
